1. Who we are

MarginPlug ("MarginPlug," "we," "us," or "our") is an operator intelligence service for HVAC business owners. We are operated by Davis Fisher and can be reached at davis.fisher@marginplug.com. Our website is located at https://marginplug.com.

2. What information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

Information you provide directly

• Diagnostic intake form (Tally): When you complete our business diagnostic, you provide operational data about your HVAC business — including revenue figures, lead volume, close rates, truck count, and other business metrics. This data is used solely to generate your MarginPlug Operational Health Report.
• Payment information (Stripe): When you subscribe, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe provides us with basic billing information including your email address, name, and subscription status.
• Email communications: If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence.

Information collected automatically

• Basic web analytics including pages visited, time on site, and general geographic region (country/state level). This is collected via standard server logs and any analytics tools we use.
• IP address and browser type for security and performance purposes.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, or financial account credentials.
• We do not collect data from your CRM, field service management software, or any third-party platform unless you explicitly provide it through our intake form.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate and deliver your weekly Operational Health Report
• Process your subscription payments through Stripe
• Send you your reports and any service-related communications
• Respond to your questions or support requests
• Improve the accuracy of our diagnostic engine over time (using anonymized, aggregated data only)
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your individual business data with any third party except as described in Section 4.

4. How we share your information

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
• Tally: Our intake form is hosted by Tally. Form submissions are transmitted to us via Tally. Tally's privacy policy is available at tally.so/privacy.
• Google Workspace: We use Google Workspace to send and receive email and to store reports. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information or business data with any other third parties for their commercial purposes.

5. Data retention

We retain your business diagnostic data and reports for as long as your subscription is active, plus 12 months after cancellation in case you choose to resubscribe. After that period, your data is deleted. You may request deletion at any time by emailing davis.fisher@marginplug.com.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your data.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out: You may cancel your subscription at any time through Stripe's billing portal.

7. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Any cookies used are strictly necessary for site functionality or basic analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the site.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information including secure transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and use of reputable third-party processors (Stripe, Google) with their own strong security practices. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

MarginPlug is a business-to-business service intended for use by business owners and operators. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years of age.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify active subscribers by email. Your continued use of MarginPlug after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
